When I had this problem a few years ago, my physical therapist told me to do exactly what you said- strengthen the glutes. It helped back then, but I didn’t keep the exercises up, so that’s another reason I think the problem returned. Definitely back to doing them now, and I think it’s helping.

Hi Steve- I am a big fan of treking poles as well. Glad to hear they help you too. Have fun on the CDT! :)Joan Westhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16396313531820725640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437728056755394515.post-57236978042370367172014-02-14T09:35:02.487-07:002014-02-14T09:35:02.487-07:00Hi Mary,

Although I despise hiking poles, I borrowed a pair to help me continue. They relieved the stress on my knee a great deal. If not already, you might consider using them. I will be on the CDT.

Good luck, SteveAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12159150856634326740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437728056755394515.post-42846358101272839172014-02-14T07:26:40.657-07:002014-02-14T07:26:40.657-07:00Hi Joan

Strengthening the gluteals helps!

Regards

Stuart
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437728056755394515.post-65484452431336336732014-02-10T19:22:24.259-07:002014-02-10T19:22:24.259-07:00Thanks so much, Misti! :)Thanks so much, Misti! :)Joan Westhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16396313531820725640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437728056755394515.post-51676616103007490272014-02-10T19:21:59.414-07:002014-02-10T19:21:59.414-07:00Wow, Jake, that's very generous of you. For the water carries, I will be drinking the water, so the weight will go down as I hike. And I'll be starting slow for sure. Though it's gonna be a challenge cause I think I'll be so excited I'll want to hike all day. :)Joan Westhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16396313531820725640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437728056755394515.post-73787893093066389992014-02-09T15:50:36.492-07:002014-02-09T15:50:36.492-07:00Aerials!
