Guidebook for hikes with wildflowers in the southeast:
Hugh and Carol Nourse's Favorite Wildflower Walks of Georgia.
Describes WHEN to do the hikes, essential for planning trips to coincide with peak flowering seasons. This book has wonderful color photos and flower descriptions. Even though the walks in this book appear to be short, most can be extended to full day or overnight hikes. There aren't as many trails covered, but every hike in this book is a winner.
L.L. Gaddy's A Naturalist's Guide to the Blue Ridge Front.
Intended for naturalists and explorers, this book has geologic features and plant lists for the most botanically diverse areas in our region. Lacks trail details, but highlights special (and obscure) areas not covered by other guides.
